Truly original flavour combination of mango and cherries. And along with cinnamon, lemon and vanilla is this compote really irresistible. Blessed as an side dish to the fried meat.
Preparation 55 minutes
- 500 g cherries, pitted and halved
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100-150 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- peel of 1 Bio lemon
Place the mango, vanilla extract, lemon peel, cinnamon and sugar in the pot.
Mix together well and cook until mangoes are tender. Then add the cherries and cook them together but do not allow cherries to be too soft. If compote is ready, remove the cinnamon stick and lemon zest. Put the compote now in the jars, seal them and allow to cool.
Season the compote with spices to your taste. Just make sure you do not suppress the original flavour of the fruits.
