Cherry balls

Summer without fruit balls? Impossible. Here we go again – with cherries.

Preparation time xx minutes .. Rising xx minutes .. Baking xx minutes

    • 500 g cherries (pitted)
    • 5 tbsp chopped nuts
    • 5 tbsp icing sugar
    • 200 g butter

Roll the dough on the working surface to 3-4 mm thick and cut into 8×8 cm squares. Fill the squares with cherries and close them as scones.

Boil the water in a deep pot. When it starts to boil, put the balls into it and cook until come up to surface. In meanwhile, grind the nuts and melt the butter in a saucepan. When the balls will come to the surface, pick them out of the water and put them into warmed bowls.

Sprinkle them with crushed nuts, pour the butter over them and sprinkle with icing sugar.

You can make the balls of whatever fresh and preferably solid kind of fruit you wish.
