Poppy seeds cake with prunes

Recipe from international kitchen. Light biscuit full of iron, thanx to the poppy seeds.

Preparation time 20 minutes .. Baking 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS .. 6-8 pers

  • 1 and ½ cup cake flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup poppy seeds
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • plums cut into wedges


Preheat the oven on 180°C.

In a bowl place the flour, sugar, milk, vegetable oil, eggs and yeast. Stir for a few minutes until all ingredients are well blended. Add poppy seeds and cinnamon and stir a few minutes.
Cover the pan with parchment paper and pour all the dough. Lay the plum slices on the batter and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes. After baking let the cake cool down en enjoy!

You can add to the batter a few drops of vanilla extract or lemon juice.
