Cranberry compote

Cranberry Compote together with Cranberry sauce are perhaps the best known preparations of the cranberry. With this delicious compote you make a meal with chicken, or turkey complete. The compote is also delicious on desserts such as custard or rice pudding.

Preparation time 25 minutes


  • 700 g cranberries
  • 5-7 tbsp brown sugar
  • water
  • cinnamon
  • cloves
  • juice of one lemon


Bring water with sugar and cranberries to a boil and add the lemon juice and cinnamon and cloves with. Cook the cranberries about 10 minutes until they all burst.

The compote can be served warm but is also delicious cold.


If we prepare it for roasting Chipolatas (spicy sausages of minced meat – not our typical sausage with garlic), we can immediately administered 1-2 tablespoons as an attachment. Or it Hotly conclude that jam and put aside for later use in the cellar.
