Candied lamb with garlic and lemon

The recipe comes from Weekend magazine. Great taste of diet, yet candied lamb is fantastic accompanied by aromatic potatoes.

Preparation time 15 minutes .. Baking 75 minutes


  • 1 kg of lamb
  • 2 tbsp liquid honey
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 untreated lemons
  • 1 big onion
  • 12 cloves of garlic
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • olive oil
  • coarse sea salt


First prepare the potatoes: peel, wash and cut into pieces. Put them in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, chopped rosemary and thyme and mix well. Grease a roasting pan with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Put the potatoes in the pan and set aside.

Preheat the oven to 210°C. Mix the honey with 3 tablespoons olive oil in a small bowl. Wash the lemons, dry them and cut into thin slices. Peel and cut the onion.

Divide the lemon, onion and garlic cloves in a roasting pan. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Arrange lamb and drizzle it with honey mixture. Bake the lamb for 1 hour and 15 minutes until the meat is golden brown.

After 35 minutes of frying meat also do the potatoes in the oven and bake on together.

Serve the meat with the potatoes and glass of cider, beer or white wine.

As a side dish you can serve also couscous or rice.
