These buns I’d prefer as an alternative snack when I was still at school. Sometimes they we have got them in the school cafeteria for lunch. Filled with jam, chocolate walnut, poppy seed or cocoa filling. Simply delicious!
Preparation time 15 minutes .. Rising 30 + 15 minutes .. Baking 12 minutes
INGREDIENTS .. 8 pers
- 600 g flour
- 375 ml milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp sugar
- 70 g icing sugar
- 30 g fresh yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 5-6 tbsp oil
- 50 g smelted margarine for brushing
- filling to taste: chocolate, fruit, jams
PREPARATION
Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in. Add in the hole sourdough, egg yolks, sugar, salt, oil and lemon zest to. Make a firm dough. If the dough is too tight, add some milk and vice versa. If the dough is too soft, add some flour with it. Then let rise in a warm place 30 minutes.
After proofing roll dough to 0.5 cm thick and cut squares of 8 x 8 cm. Fill in the squares with the chocolate, jam, fresh fruit or other filling to taste. Roll them close in rolls and place on a greased baking sheet. Brush each roll with a smelted margarine and put them close together. Let them rise for another 15 minutes and bake after at 180°C (fan oven -20°C) for approximately 10-12 minutes – until red.
Let them after baking on a rack to cool and serve sprinkled with icing sugar.
