Lazy strudl

This strudl is so delicious that you eat him in no time. But because I had no sense to peel and ground the apples, I call it “lazy”.

Preparation time 15 minutes .. Baking 20-25 minutes

INGREDIENTS .. 4 pers

  • 3-4 apples, in pieces
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of ground kardemom
  • 1/2 tsp of ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp of ground star anise
  • 2-3 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 2-3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 el vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • juice from 1/2 lemon
  • handful of raisins (optional)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • knob of butter

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare the puff pastry according to the recipe from the link, or use one from the store.

Wash the apples, cut into cubes and place them in a large bowl. Mix with the a little lemon sap.

Heat the knob of butter in the pan and caramelise the sugars, maple syrup and the spices together. Than add the apples and bake them for about 10 minutes till golden. When the apple mixture nicely browned, pour it into a sieve to remove the excess butter and the juice released.

Meanwhile roll out the pastry and open gash left and right even strokes in the dough. Spread the apple-mixture out in the middle of the dough. Crisscross the strips then all over the mixture.

Spread the apple cake with the beaten egg and place it in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

Sprinkle it with powdered sugar after baking and enjoy!
