Traditional Slovak food from various regions known under various names: straska, strasanka, tresjenina, stresjenina, sitovitsa. The base is always potatoes and pickled cabbage. For the court to flavor one uses lard or bacon or smoked meat or sausage. The dish is very tasty, healthy, inexpensive and nutritious.

INGREDIENTS .. 4 pers
- 2 pounds potatoes, cooked unpeeled
- 1 cup smoked bacon in strips
- 2 ponds pickled cabbage
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp oil
PREPARATION
Peel boiled potatoes and cut into cubes. Bake the finely chopped onion in oil together with cutted pickled cabbage. Mix the potatoes with melted butter and sprinkle with salt. Bake the bacon, add to the potatoes and pickled cabbage, if necessary, season with salt and good jiggle that very well.
Serve with cider, or a glass of beer.
Pickled cabbage does not need to be boiled until tender. Just as it overheat with bacon and done.
