Chorizo, leek and mushroom braid

Great idea for your picknick: saves on space, but not on taste!

Preparation time 20 minutes .. Baking 20-25 minutes


  • 230 g puff pastry (or gluten free version of)
  • 250 g brown champignons
  • 150 g grated cheese
  • 1 chorizo, in rings
  • 1 leek, in rings
  • 2 x 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 beaten egg
  • fresh thyme
  • salt & pepper


Clean the leek, cut into rings, season with some pepper, salt and thyme and bake on 2 tablespoon olive oil not until soft – about 10 minutes. Take him off the pan and put into a mixing bowl.

Add the other 2 tablespoons of olive oil into the pan and bake the sliced mushrooms. Bring them to taste very well with salt, pepper and thyme. Do after baking with the leek in the bowl.

Put the rings of chorizo in the pan and bake them for a while. Also add them to the vegetables.
Now add the cheese and mix it carefully.

Fill with the puff pastry like the strudel.

If you are a vegetarian, leave chorizo away, or replace with other vegetables.

Sprinkle the strudel with chopped egg, spoon with the fork, sprinkle with thyme leaves and a lot of coarse salt.
Bake the strudel in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until rose.

After baking, cut them into pieces and serve with your beloved beer.
